The special allowances are given as House Rental Allowance(HRA) and Dearly Allowance(DA). The allowances available for the post of Senior Assistant and Senior Special Assistant are Rs.1800 and RS.3500 respectively. The special allowance for Special Assistant is Rs.2500.
Job Profile and Functions
Once the bank appoints someone as the clerk, he is put on probation for a term of six months. The six months of probation is the time period to complete 15 e-lessons prescribed by the bank.
The e-lessons are nothing but role-based lessons about duties, functions, and responsibilities of the job. The 6 month is the minimum period provided. If the newly appointed junior associate cannot complete the task in six months, his probation period will be further extended.
Coming to the duties of the post, the duty of any clerk is to provide necessary help and guidance for the customers, while they are at the bank.
They may have to work at the deposit counters, handle ledgers, do the balance tallying, data entry and a lot more works if there is no necessary staff available. The clerk has to do the checking and validation of applications submitted in the bank. You may also have to do the advisory job sometimes to help the customers in cross-selling, selling banking services etc.

Functions of an SBI Junior Clerk
Here are the tasks the Junior Clerk has to once he is appointed to the job:
- Attend to the inquiries of the customers

10. Check the validity and genuinity of applications filed in the bank
11. Providing necessary advice through customer calls or by direct meetings.
